Heart Care - Walsall have a wide range of staff and volunteers. Below is a little detail each staff member and more about Heart Care's volunteers can be found on our volunteers page

Ewen English
Ewan EnglishI work as an exercise physiologist on the rehabilitation programme at the Walsall Unit. I am also responsible for one of the evening sessions we run at Walsall on a Monday and Wednesday evening.


Suzanne Ursell
Suzanne Ursell‘Hello. I am the Manager of the Units. Please feel free to come and see me at anytime if you are concerned on any matter or would like any further information. I’ll be the one running up and down the stairs! I am sure you will gain a lot from Heart Care not just in regard to exercise, but information regarding diet and relaxation, as well as the opportunity of talking to other people in the same position -- it really helps. We look forward to seeing and helping you on the road to a full and healthy life.’


Stuart Ennis
Stuart EnnisI work as an exercise physiologist at both the Walsall and Streetly Units. As an exercise specialist I will prescribe and monitor your exercise programme on the rehabilitation and after care courses.

Brian English'I am an exercise physiologist and I helped to set up the Unit in 1981.'

 


Carole Jennings
Carole Jennings'For the last eight years I've worked at Heart Care. As a Health Care Assistant, I shall be helping the medical staff monitor your progress.'



Diane McLean
Diane McLean'I am a cardiac rehabilitation nurse. I have worked at Heart Care since 1983. It is likely that I will be the first person from Heart Care to contact you after your By-pass or heart attack, about joining our course.'

 

 

Joss Lodwick
Joss Lodwick'I am the doctor at Heart Care. I am present at most of your exercise sessions, so I will be available to answer any questions you may have. During my annual leave, our nurses will cover for me. Before joining the |Heart Care team in 1987, I completed a GP training scheme and worked as a GP in Aldridge, Walsall. I have also worked in casualty and on an acute medical ward in Hull, so have all round medical experience. I look forward to meeting you; we are a very friendly team.'


Louise Tomlinson
Louise TomlinsonI work at Walsall and Streetly as a cardiac nurse. I am available to give health advice for patients while they are on the rehabilitation and after care programmes.

 


Val Day
Val DayAs the person responsible for fund-raising and promotion, it's my job to make sure we get the funds we need to keep our service running. We always require funds for the general running of the Units, equipment, maintenance and upgrading the building. If you have any ideas about fund-raising or would like to help in any way, please get in touch.


Sharon Smith
Sharon SmithI'm a part-time cardiac rehab nurse mainly based with our after care unit at Streetly, although I also work at Walsall. Until recently I was also a staff nurse at the Minor Injuries Unit, Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth, where I assessed walking wounded patients, treated them appropriately and discharged under self care.

I look forward to meeting you, when you join us at Heart Care.


Tania Glover
Tania GloverBefore moving to the area, I worked at Papworth Hospital. I've had 15 years experience working in cardiology. Since becoming a mum, I now work part-time at Heart Care as a cardiac nurse.'

 


Caroline Rhodes
Caroline Rhodes'I am a Health Care assistant. My main job is monitoring patients, but I also check blood pressure and cholesterol. I am also responsible for keeping patient computer records.'



Angela Blanton
Angela Blanton'I started at Heart Care in October 2003 as Administrative Assistant. I deal with the day-to-day finances of the Units and provide admin support to the whole team. My workload is very varied and there are never enough hours in the day!! '


Paul Boden
Paul BodenI am one of the exercise physiologists at Heart Care. I work 3 mornings/week at the Streetly after care unit and the rest of the time at Walsall, where we prescribe and monitor the patients' exercise programme. I am also involved in the weight loss support groups and the GP angina scheme.

 


Michelle Bowen
Michelle BowenI am employed as a Health Care Worker 2 days a week. I shall be assisting the nursing and medical staff monitoring your progress.
