ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK
Sunday 4th July 2010
A gentle 4 mile walk taking in canal paths and countryside views. Registration will commence at 10.30am at the Dilke Arms, Mellish Road, Walsall and walking to Park Lime Pits. Sponsorship forms can be obtained from Heart Care or telephone SUE TAYLOR ON 07884472352
Last year over 100 people took part the weather was kind and it was a great family day out we are hoping for a repeat this year.

BERLIN MARATHON
On Sunday 26th September our 4 runners successfully completed the Berlin Marathon. None of them had ever competed in a marathon before but despite this and the heavy rain on the day they all achieved very respectable times.
Paul Boden our exercise physiologist completed in 3 hours 53 minutes 10 seconds
John Bowen (Michelle’s husband) Scott Drummond and Andy Cockayne all went over the finish line together in 4 hours 19minutes.

The Berlin Marathon is a major running and sporting event held annually in Berlin, Germany. The official marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers (26 miles 385 yards) is set up as a city-wide road race where professional athletes and amateur sportsmen jointly participate. The course starts and finishes near the Brandenburg Gate.

Thanks to our runners they have raised a total of £5118.54, well done to all and thank you to all those who supported and sponsored them.

HEALTHY HEART EVENING Twice a year Walsall Heart Care holds the above evening for the general public. Each appointment includes:
• Height and weight measurement
• BMI (Body Mass Index)
• Lung capacity test
• Blood pressure check
• Urine check
• Cholesterol check
• Glucose check
• An ECG
and the chance to speak to one of our Consultants about the results and any concerns you may have.
